5 Strategies To Improve Your Self Esteem & Self Confidence

In order for you to be the best version of yourself, you must learn how to improve your self-esteem and self-confidence and treat yourself with the utmost respect. It is my desire to see you succeed in every aspect of your life.

In order to do that, you have to get comfortable being in your own skin. The more you start to do things that make you happy, the sooner your life will start to shift in such a great direction.

Today, I will be sharing with you some of my best tips on how to build up your self-esteem so that you can live your best possible life.

What Causes Low Self Esteem & Self Confidence?

There are a number of things that can cause a person to have low self-esteem and here are a few: You can have people around you who are always negative and criticize you about every little thing

Another cause is if you have unsupportive parents or family members who always make you feel bad for the choices you make. Whether it be your personal life or professional life.

How To Improve Your Self Esteem & Self Confidence?

Get Comfortable Celebrating Yourself

In order for you to build your self-esteem and self-confidence, you’ve got to get comfortable with celebrating yourself for the small things and the bigger things in your life that you accomplish.

I don’t care if you didn’t drink a soda for a day when you usually drink one daily; you should pat yourself on the back. Celebrating small victories puts you in a positive mindset and will help you to improve your self-esteem and your confidence over time.

Take a moment each day to write down three accomplishments that you are proud of. This can be anything like getting out of the door on time, making perfect scrambled eggs. Or receiving a compliment from your boss. Keeping track of these small victories and celebrating them will lead to even greater accomplishments for you to be proud of in your future.

Learn To Accept Compliments

One of the most important strategies that you can use to build up your self-esteem is learning to accept compliments. It doesn’t matter if the compliment is on your outfit, a craft you completed, or a compliment from your boss about a big work accomplishment. Accept compliments with a smile, eye contact, and a thank-you.

Too many times we will hear a compliment and stare at the floor, look away, or make some kind of self-deprecating remark. No more ladies! Take that compliment and believe it, wear it like a badge of honor and feel your self-esteem soar!

Stop Putting Yourself Down

You can’t successfully build up your self-esteem and confidence if you are constantly putting yourself down.

Don’t be ashamed, we’ve all done it…heard that little voice in our head’s telling us we aren’t good enough, smart enough, or strong enough. That little voice whispering that you don’t deserve something better.

STOP IT! You ARE good enough, smart enough, and strong enough.

Unfortunately, that little negative voice has been nagging you inside your head for so long that you don’t even realize how often it happens.

So try this; keep a running tally of how many times you speak or think negatively about yourself. One of my favorite ways to do this is through journaling.

By making sure that you are aware of how often you speak negatively about yourself you are giving yourself the power to stop it. Now take that negative thought about yourself and turn it into a positive one. You can do anything if you BELIEVE that you can do it.

Take Care Of Yourself

Take some time each day to care for yourself. Eat right, get some exercise, try to get enough sleep at night, and do something each day that’s just for you.

It can be reading a book, taking a nap, or watching a favorite TV show. When our self-esteem is low it can be easy to convince ourselves that we don’t deserve these things which are simply not true.

Go get that haircut, treat yourself to a massage, or buy that new outfit. You are awesome, you are worth it, and you deserve it. Treating yourself well naturally increases your feeling of self-confidence and self-esteem.

Know That Your DNA Is Unique

When you start to think about all of the billions of people in this world, none of them have your fingerprints or your DNA. That alone should make you cut a step because there is only one of you.

God made you unique with your own fingerprints for a reason. No one can be you even if they tried.

That also means that you can’t be anyone else either. Having role models that you look up to is great, but focus your attention on making yourself the very best you that you can be.

No one else has your exact same experiences or talents, and that means that you bring something special to the table that no one else but you can.
